Just because I was a little late for the hype train, didn't mean I was going to pass up jumping on board

I am undENIABLY PUMPED for ORAS like you guys don't even know

I've wanted an excuse for quite a while to tell this particular story; looking back I think the way I got introduced to pokemon was amazing

12 years back in time, I was a wee girlscout on what I thought would be a boring camping trip with my small troupe. We headed out to the site and all was well and good until we just finished setting our tents up.

It started to rain

but dude this was NOT your average lil rainstorm no, this literally flooded the entire campsite (which was ON A HILL) with over a foot of water. We had to use our pants as towels and pillows and literally could not do a thing that we had planned for that trip, but still had to stay there to get the money's worth out of the rental of the site or something

So then came the saving grace of my trip, which was my friend- and her GBA

with Pokemon Sapphire

She let me try it out and fight mons left and right with her Swampert, run into a Ralts that I'd find out many years down the road had been a shiny pokemon when I first encountered it and that I'd never see a shiny for the rest of my days |||D, and we basically just took turns playing that poor GBA's batteries dry until we ran out of spares.

After that trip I traded her a handful of my DS games for Sapphire and have been in love with the series ever since <3

LOOKING BACK NOW I've always felt like that day Kyogre was looking out for me, flooding that camp with his powers so that I would be exposed to this amazing franchise
or I just had really awesome luck xD

I used to trade games a lot as a kid, so after I finished Sapphire I ended up trading it for Leaf Green, and then when I missed Hoenn WAAAAAY more I traded with another friend for Ruby, which I still have, but I've always longed to get a copy of Sapphire back and now with these remakes coming I can finally do so

But I'm KIND of at a dilema for what starter I actually want to go with-
cause initially I was thinking of just picking Mudkip, but nowwww I'm thinking of just bringing my Swampert Donny (the bamf you see featured here in mega-form with his Amulet Coin) from my Ruby locke and pick Treecko, since I like both the mega designs they got. But I also know for a fact I really want to have Lileep/Cradily on my team and I'm not fond of having multiple pokes of the same type on a team

And fun fact- Kito's wetsuit design is actually based on an unfinished outfit meme I had been working on for her! xD I only got as far as her normal clothes and the swimsuit, so there ya go :,P
